Our Mission:
As established by Part 97 of the Federal Communications
Commission’s regulations, a primary responsibility of the Amateur Radio
Service is the performance of public service communications for the general
public, especially during emergencies when normal communications are
not available.
With that in mind, the Walton County Emergency Radio
Club is dedicated to supporting the Walton County ARES members. Under the oversight of the American Radio Relay League,
ARES members will equip themselves and train to provide communications as a direct
service to the general public through government and relief agencies of
Walton County Georgia, the State of Georgia, and Federal Agencies, when
requested.
The Walton County Emergency Radio Club, Inc. further
wishes to advance the Amateur Radio hobby by conducting training classes for
unlicensed prospective hams, and licensed hams wishing to upgrade their
license class. We will also conduct testing sessions, meetings,
workshops and assist public service events and activities. |
